I was honored to award five English scholarships to hard working adults last night in León, Nicaragua. This would not have been possible without your generous contributions during the Cleveland Towpath Marathon fundraiser and continued support. The scholarships will provide full tuition for students to attend weekly English classes Monday – Thursday, 6-8 pm, at ITA Nicaragua. Classes commence January 23, 2017 until June 2017.
The scholarships were based on financial need, attendance, participation, leadership, and merit. As a scholarship provider it was important to invest in students who are invested in his/her self. The desire for advanced education is just one example of how applicants demonstrate personal development. These students have taken it upon themselves to act upon inspiration; therefore, displaying ambition for an enriched life experience.
